• I offer four different ways to record a session:
1) Remote recording - No live video.
2) Have Gear-Will Travel - Record at your studio of choice.
3) Remote live video recording - Muse application.
Muse is a collaboration platform for music creators. Think of it like Zoom for musicians. You can record, produce, and collaborate in real-time, just like you do in-person. Muse comes with plugins, audio drivers, and MIDI drivers that help you make music online with any DAW.
4) Remote live video recording - Zoom.
Please send a rough mix mp3 recording or multi-track stems of your song, I will import into my DAW and play along during session. Leave the file exactly "as is", do not crop off anything at beginning of track, as you want my stems to fit seamlessly back into your DAW.
The Sample Rate is generally 48Khz 24 bit. Be sure to let me know what you need before I start to record.
I deliver .wav stem files to you using WeTransfer or Google Drive. You will receive an email with a link to download a zip file. The download link stays live for at least 1 month and you can download as many times as you wish. You can also share the download link with others, for example - with other studios that need the stems.
A chart is encouraged but not required. Send details of musical direction including playing style, solo and fill locations, and specific effects you would like.
I usually record into preamps and amp modelers, either stand alone hardware or DAW plug-ins. If needed, I will mic isolated amps with Shure SM 57 and Royer 121 mics. For acoustic instruments I record with two Oktava MK 319 condenser mics.
